One of the things I always recommend to other professionals is the power of networking. Not only do I recommend it, but I truly do enjoy it myself! It doesn’t matter if you’re just starting out or you’ve already made it. At any level in your career, you can always benefit from networking. Nothing will help your brand grow more than you being physically present at events to market it. Networking opportunities will allow you to meet potential customers, stay present on their mind, promote your service or product to them and most importantly, it will allow you to build long lasting business relationships.
If you’re feeling a bit intimidated at first, you can always bring a friend or colleague with you. But once you’ve become accustomed to attending these events, I really encourage that you start to attend them on your own. This will allow you and encourage you to move out of your comfort zone and really start mingling with the crowd. Stay up to date and informed on events that would interest you and don’t be shy to reach out to the host and ask who else will be attending. If you see a few potential clients on that list, be sure to really study their company, learn about their business model and better yet, what they potentially need that you can offer to help their business grow to the next level. Being prepared in this manner will really impress your potential customer(s) and give you the confidence you need when approaching them. Knowledge is power and this strategy will ensure you can make the most out of every event you attend.
While it’s very important to get out there and meet other people in your industry, it’s also super important to later maintain those connections. Remember to phone your contacts, e-mail them, send them cards when appropriate and do this often to show you care about the relationship you have developed with them. Eventually, your personal network will start to work for you in ways you never thought of or imagined!
Speaking of networking, I had the pleasure to attend two great events just last week. The first event, “Rancho Santa Fe After Hours,” was coordinated by the California MBA and took place at the beautiful Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club. The event was held on Wednesday, February 3rd, 2016, and was hosted by one of my absolute favorite clients, Residential Wholesale Mortgage, Inc. It was such a fun evening and the location was absolutely stunning! It was so wonderful to see old friends from the industry, interact with our incredible clients and also meet some new faces and potential new clients! I always find that any event coordinated by the California MBA is organized extremely well and is super beneficial to all individuals in the Real Estate Market.
The second event, the “3rd Annual Reverse Sales and Marketing Summit, 2016,” was coordinated by HighTechLending, Inc, and took place at Equinox Irvine on February 4th, 2016. This event was extremely helpful as we were able to learn more about reverse mortgage and marketing. HighTechLending did a great job presenting what could be intimidating material, in a fashion that was easier to comprehend. Once again it was a pleasure to see many of our clients while connecting with new individuals from our industry. We gained the opportunity to personally hear what lenders and clients in our industry are facing and services they need that we may be able to provide. It was a pleasure to sponsor this event and we truly look forward to working with our newest client, HighTechLending especially when they provide fantastic customer service and are such supportive leaders in our industry.
Once again, get yourself out there and hoping to see all of you at some awesome upcoming events!
